A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The annual Installation of Officers was held on December 19, 1993 and 2- Past Grand Masters were part of the Installing Team of Officers. After the ceremonies the Lodge was closed by Junior Past Master Frank Gann. Dinner was served following the ceremonies in the dining hall.
In January it was reported that the food drive from the previous year netted $900.00 worth of food along with $1300.00 in cash, which was donated to the Salvation Army, who used it to help feed over 200 needy families.
In February a 50-year presentation for Bro. Glenn Forrest Sheets was given and the "Boomers Club" was officially disbanded for lack of interest. The treasury of the Boomers was turned into the Lodge.
In March it was announced that the student awards being printed by the Lodge were now being handed out at Gettysburg and Red Bank Elementary Schools. There was also a new Junior Warden elected to fill the vacancy.
In April, trowels were being prepared for those members who hadn't received theirs in the past 4 or so years and that they would be presented at the next stated meeting.
In June a new Junior Warden was installed and it was decided to initiate a new chapter of DeMolay in Clovis Lodge. In July it was announced that 172 certificates had been handed out to the public schools and that each of the line officers was going to be assigned a Past Master to assist them in their travels to the East.
In August it was decided by motion and vote to have ceiling fans installed in the Lodge room and there were quite a few other items on the agenda this evening also.
In September there was an application for affiliation received from Bro. J. C. Butcher from Sanger Lodge 316, for dual membership. Finally he was going to make it official, no more free meals for him! hehehe Also Bro. Jake Marshall was announced as this years Hiram Award designee.
In October the Junior Warden resigned effective as of September 14th, OK what was going on with these guys? hehehe Speaking from experience it was a very hard chair to fill.
In December there was the annual Roll Call dinner and again there was no mention of our departed brethren. At the stated meeting in December, Bro. Robert T. Lewis Jr., Past Master of Kaweah Lodge 665, was elected to membership in Clovis Lodge. With Bob and J.C. in the same year, the place really won't be the same again. :)
The Master of this year Bro. D. Cairns, has continued to serve Masonry in the best of his capacity. He was appointed Inspector of the 293rd Masonic District following his year as Master. He has served the Grand Lodge of California faithfully.
Brethren lost in this year were Bro's. Neil Francis Backus, Frank Malroy Byrd, Vaughn Raymond Carmical, William John Dalzell, Thomas Henry Dean, Teddy Jacob Johnson, Charles Owen Ogden, Raymond Arthur Pearce, Ray Arthur Pryor and Sidney Ashbrook Shute.
